Soul Mate

Q. Do you think it's important to find the person who is your "soul mate", and why? Can you have more than one soul mate?

A:Finding your soul mate is a question asked for centuries. What is a soul mate? If you believe in reincarnation, and let's call it recycling the energy of the universe, then when a being dies, the energy is still there. There is a belief that a human's energy divides when they die, half is female yin, and the other half is male yang. Parts of these energies recycle when a person is born, so that a reborn person may not have all the energies of the person with the past life. That's a reason Buddhists and Taoist meditate, and do energy practices, in order to keep their energy intact when they pass from this life to the next.

So a person when they reach maturity has an inner drive to seek the other half of their past lives energies, the search for the soul mate. And since your energy is so basic and primitive, there is no rational way, using your modern intelligence to find your soul mate, it's purely instinctive. Some people believe that if you go into a meditative state when you are looking at someone who you believe may be you soul mate, you will see a small fire over their left shoulder. But most people, unless they are affected by drugs, alcohol or mental disorders, will recognize their soul mate intuitively and through love.

Energy spread when a being passes from the living to the death, if they are not fully spiritually developed, so energies may enter into the rebirth of several people, and through several cycles, therefore you may indeed find these old energies in more than one person, and have more than one soul mate.

That's a basic explanation of the energies that move from death to new life, and why we search for a soul mate from ancient spiritualistic views. And from a Buddhist point of view, it's a reason why every living thing is respected, because they all contain parts of energies from past lives.

And it's interesting, providing one explanation for why we fall in love and search for a soul mate.
