Eat Healthy, Lose Weight, Don't Gain it Back

You've read about weight loss and weight control, tried all kinds of diets, but if you lose any weight, you soon gain it back.

"Diets" generally mean eating small amounts of food you don't like and suffering. One of the problems with that kind of dieting is that it's not healthy for you, you often don't feel well while you're eating "diet" foods, and you're not going to stick with it.

Calm Spirit Weight Management program is simple and a lifestyle you can live with. It involved discipline on your part, but there is sacrifice in any eating program. We have habits of eating too much, filling emotional needs with food, and getting hooked on those feel-good fatty foods. Most of our eating patterns escalate into eating more and more because these fatty foods do make us feel good, and when we cut back on them we feel the urge to eat them again. It's no secret that food companies have planned this and added substances to food that make us crave more.

So, what you can you do get control of your eating and eat healthy and manage your weight for life.

Always start your morning with a nourishing breakfast. Cereal with fruit and lowfat milk, a cup of tea. A perfect breakfast is a handful of blueberries mixed with 6-8 ounces of lowfat plain yogurt topped with bran flakes, grapenuts or other high fiber cereal.

After you eat breakfast, think about what snacks you tend to be tempted by and eat during they day. Get your snacks out now and put them in a plastic bowl with a lid. If you eat a bag of chips during the day, take one half of the bag and put it in your plastic bowl, seal the bag and put it away. If you eat a big apple, cut it in half, put half in a bowl and the other half in the fridge. If you eat two candy bars, put one in a bowl, and put the other one away. These are your snacks for the day, so put them out where you can see them and don't feel guilty when you do eat them. After all, it will be only half of what you usually eat for snacks.

Plan to have three small snacks, one between breakfast and lunch, one between lunch and dinner, and one before bedtime. If you decide not to eat a snack, have a cup of green tea which is good for you, reduces fat in the body, and fills your stomach.

When you are ready to eat lunch, and have your lunch in front of you, take one third of each thing you are going to eat off your plate. You can do this if you are eating out, or eating at home. If you are at home, take the food off your plate before you sit down to eat. If you are eating out, you can put one third in a take home box, which can be one of your snacks tomorrow. By taking off one third, you have cut one third of the calories already. You haven't sacrificed what you really want to eat, and you are probably eating a variety of food. You won't feel deprived, and even if you wish you were eating it all, you probably won't feel hungry if wait awhile for your body to catch up and tell your brain you're "full". And it's true you might not feel full, because your stomach might be stretched and want more food. But just stop at two thirds of what you had planned to eat.

Do the same thing for dinner. Take one third off your plate right at the start, don't even leave it on your plate to tempt you.

After a few days of eating like this, your stomach will start shrinking and you won't feel as "not full" as you did the first week. And you should start to see some weight loss. You are still eating your regular food, a variety of food, so your sacrifice and suffering is minimal.

That's it. You can lose weight and maintain your weight eating half the snacks and one third less lunch and dinner. As you lose weight, your metabolism slows down because the body protects itself from losing weight by lowering metabolism.

If you get hungry, you may be interpreting thirst for hunger. Drink a cup of green tea, or Bojenmi fat reducing tea, or Jiaogulan Gynostemma cholesterol reducing tea, or "white tea", which is a cup of warm plain water.

As you lose weight, feel better, you will probably change your "snacks", and maybe even the food you choose for more healthy alternatives. However, most people do best on weight management eating their regular foods, and foods the rest of the family eats. This way there are "no excuses" for not having your special diet foods. You simply eat one third less.

Tai chi, chi gong and yoga exercises help to balance the body and many people find that doing these regularly helps to balance your weight also.

Tea is a tradition in China. Drinking tea has helped people manage their weight and is a delicious beverage with many healthful qualities.
